John Corripo has a presentation about Iron Chef presenting. This uses the Frayer model as a base from which students present on topics, such as vocabulary. What do students do? They get into small groups of 3-5 students, use Google Slides to create a short presentation on a topic, and only have 20 minutes to get it done. Then, when done, students present on the topic BUT they only get 30 seconds per slide.
So, I've begun using this for students to present on vocabulary and grammar topics in a World Language class. Here, this is an example of students creating a single slide using Doceri and presenting on it. Students had to put an interrogative (question word) in the center, define it, show a picture demonstrating it, demonstrate questions using it, and students provided a unique fact about themselves in one section too.
Here is a slide show showing a 3 slide show presentation which is a variation of the Frayer model. Groups of 3 have to create the presentation and then have 30 seconds each to present. All students have different jobs in creating the presentations and becoming intimitely familiar with the topic at hand. This topic here is about using prepositions with location.
