This Christmas is a tough one for us. My family has had to undergo a tremendous amount of hard times and this season we are feeling the weight of it. To compound it, there are family members, who through their own selfish devices, are working to make it even harder. When your spouse and kids hurts due to someone else in the family the reaction is anger, fury, sadness, and pain. I hurt this year for my family and outside of loving on them, I can do little to help the problem.
My natural instinct is to try and fix a problem, but this time I can't. In fact it isn't healthy to try and fix problems but rather love on those who are hurting. So this year while we are suffering, I need to love on my family all the more and be thankful for what we do have.
What do we have to be thankful for?
I am thankful for my wife and kids.
I am thankful that I have a great church.
I am thankful that I have a warm home to live in.
I am thankful we have family members who are kind, loving, and unconditional.
I am thankful that I am healthy.
I am thankful that I have a job to provide for my family.
I am thankful that we have (so far) great weather in SoCal.
I am thankful that my Lord and Savior loves me unconditionally.
I am thankful that I can freely read the Bible without fear or reprisal.
I am thankful for my friends who build into me to help me be a better man.
